2020/21 Board of Directors Election

Be a part of the 2020/21 HVLL Board of Directors

This group, chosen annually by our league families, works tirelessly throughout the year to make the baseball season fun for our players and their families. Besides fulfilling the duties of a specific board position, members also participate in a variety of league activities/events, including board meetings (twice per month), "Board Member on Duty" shifts during the season, Document Check Days, Player Tryouts, Field Maintenance Day, Opening Day, Tournament Preparation/Hosting and well, everything in between. Being on the Board of Directors is A LOT of work, but it is also a wonderful opportunity to help improve our league, and make it even better for our kids. Plus, you get a cool hat to wear!

Listed below are the positions that makeup the HVLL Board of Directors.  Except for the role of president which is a two-year term, each position holds a one-year term. ALL positions are open for the 2020/21 term. Please remember that there can be multiple candidates running for a position!

If you are interested, please email the members of the Nomination Committee (listed below), let them know that you would like to be included on the ballot and for which position(s) you are interested in running no later than July 25, 2020.  Also, we strongly encourage you to submit a short bio to help people learn more about you and to be included on the ballot. This includes current Board members who are interested in running for re-election.

The 2020/21 Board of Directors Election will take place from July 31 - August 8, 2020.  An email will be sent to the primary contact listed within your account (1 vote per family) once the election is open with instructions on how to cast your ballot.

Huntington Valley Little League Membership,

Due to the unprecedented circumstances presented by the coronavirus pandemic, Little League International (LLI) has authorized local leagues to modify their annual elections. We typically hold our elections earlier in the summer, but due to Covid-19 and guidance from LLI, our annual elections were delayed.

For the expressed purposes of electing a Board of Directors for the upcoming season, we will hold nominations by e-mail and submit ballots electronically using Election Buddy (as we have done in the past). Following is a time frame for the process: 

  • Notice of Election:
    Notice is effective July 17 regarding the election to be held beginning July 31.

Notice and nomination emails sent to members opening nominations to the Board of Directors.

  • Nomination Deadline: July 25

Nominations to the Board of Directors is closed.

  • Election Ballot: July 31

Email is sent to members with a link for anelectronic ballot.

  • Election Results: August 8

Ballot is closed. Results are shared with membership. Election may be extended if a quorum isnot obtained by August 8.

We are requesting all members copied on this notice submit nominations to let us know that you are interested in running for a position on the 2020-21 HVLL Board of Directors no later than July 25, 2020.  We will advise you of the accepted nominations via an electronic Election Ballot on July 31 and will complete the election and notification process once votes are cast.  Please watch your email for these important communications. In addition, a follow up email with detailed position descriptions will follow this note under separate cover.

The role of the league’s Board of Directors is extremely important.  The management of the property and affairs of the local league shall be vested solely in the Board of Directors. The directors shall, upon election, immediately enter upon the performance of their duties and shall continue in office until successors have been duly elected and qualify.  When considering the individual for the Board please familiarize yourself with the roles and responsibilities:
