Join us at Huntington Valley Little League as we honor the memory of Joe Chavez and celebrate the dedication of our volunteers! Joe Chavez was more than just an umpire; he was a beloved member of our community who dedicated countless hours to make our field and events special for everyone involved.
What is Joe Chavez Day?
Joe Chavez Day is an annual event where we come together to recognize the contributions of volunteers like Joe who have made a lasting impact on our league. It's a day filled with gratitude, celebrations, and, of course, baseball!
Highlights of Joe Chavez Day 2024
- Field Presentation: Joe Chavez Field (Majors Field) will play host to our field presentation for the 9am, 12pm and 3pm games. All Little League players for all games on all fields will be asked to join our Majors teams on the field for the singing of the national anthem, Little League pledge and a special presentation to introduce and thank our volunteers, highlighting the importance of their contributions.
- Barbeque: We will have our smokers going all night to bring you the best BBQ Huntington Valley Little League has ever seen. Enjoy Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork, Baby Back Ribs, BBQ Chicken or Kielbasa. The BBQ will open at 11am after our first Majors game has ended and run until we sell out.
Special Guests: Our Majors, Minor A, and Minor B fields will host umpires from around California polishing their skills before they umpire the Little League West Finals and Little League World Series. These are the best Little League umpires in the World at our fields for one day. You can plan to see a 4 man umpiring crew on our Majors field which is the same you will see in the Little League World Series.
